How do I put a password on a PDF?

Upload the PDF, type your chosen password, and apply encryption. Download the locked file — it will ask for the password whenever it is opened.

Can I stop people from copying or printing my PDF?

Besides the open password you can apply owner permissions that restrict actions like copying text or printing in compliant readers.

What if I forget the password?

It cannot be recovered from the encrypted file — store it safely before distributing the document.

Is my password sent to your servers?

No. Files are processed entirely inside your browser using client-side JavaScript. Your document is never uploaded to a server. The password you type never leaves the page.
